Hosted by School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA) and the Dr. Seaker Chan Center for Comparative Political Development Studies (CCPDS), Fudan University,working with the Chinese Political Science Review (CPSR, a disciplinary, peer review journal in political science published by Springer), the Second Global Forum extends an invitation for the submission of papers to the Global Forum on “Political Parties and Good Governance” to be held on May10-11, 2019. Participants who join the forum should subsequently submit their (previously unpublished) papers for publication in special issues of the Chinese Political Science Review based on the results of peer-review, which intends to shape or reshape the research agenda and the reflective and critical discourse onpolitical party and good governancewhenfacing the totally new international economic and political situation.
The organizer will cover international or domestic transportation (round-trip, economy class airfare, or high-speed train tickets) and local expenses in Shanghaiincluding three nights of hotel accommodation and all meals for all invited participants who submit final papers for the Forum.
The SIRPA and CCPDS invites research papers exploring any aspect of issues related to the theme of the forum, including the following broad topics:
- The researches on methodologies, theories, and perspectives in comparative studies of political parties;
- The theoretical discussions about relations between the political parties and good governance;
- Comparative studies of political parties between China and the foreign countries;
- Comparative studies of the relations between political party and good governance;
- The changing nature of political party system in western countries;
- Issues related to the transformation of party system and good governance;
- The role of political party in good governance in the new global information technology environment.
- The case study of political party and good governance in an individual country.
Deadline for submission of papers and draft papers and Submission guidelines:
A 400-word abstract of the paper should be sent ELECTRONICALLY to Dr.Wendy Wang, at mlwzl0626@sina.com. All abstract submissions must be received byDecember15, 2018for review and consideration. Acceptance of a paper obligates authors to attend the conference and present the paper.
Abstracts will be peer reviewed by at least two scholars. Authors of the abstracts will be notified of acceptance byJanuary 15, 2019. Full-length papers must be submitted by May 5, 2019.
All submissions should include two separate attachments in Word format
- A 400-word abstract of the paper should be sent, as an email attachment by December 15, 2018. The abstract should include research objectives, methodology and significance followed by keywords.
- A separate document including the name, academic institution, mailing address, phone number, email address, and brief author’s profile must be submitted for each author.
- If accepted, the full-length paper (not to exceed 25-pages excluding references and tables) must be submitted by May 5, 2019. All papers should adhere to The Chinese Political Science Review (CPSR) style manual. For details, visit www.springer.com/social+sciences/political+science/41111
Publication:
The papers will be first printed out for distribution among participants at the forum, and then selected papers, closely related to the theme of the forum and outstanding in this field, shall be published in special issues of the Chinese Political Science Review.
Language:
All papers and oral presentations will be in English.
Conference Location (hotel and facilities):
The forum will take place on the campus of Fudan University. The organizer will reserve the hotel rooms for participantsin advance.
Travel Arrangements:
There are daily flights from major cities around the world to Shanghai, P.R. China. Upon arrival, you can take the Metro (subway) or taxi to Fudan University. You can take the Line 10 directly to the Guoquan Road stop from the Hongqiao airport or you can take the Line 2 to the East Nanjing Road, then Change the Line 10 to the same stopfrom the Pudong airport. The hotel is near to Fudan campus. OR, you can take a taxi, whose fare is about 200 RMB.
